Condolence From: Susan Kilian
Condolence: To Rick, Maria and your whole extended family: News of Debby's death shook me to the core as I am sure it did to many others. Debby was one of those people who should have lived until she was 100 because she was so vital to your immediate family and to the 100's of people whose lives she touched in her incomparable, life-long role as people- helper. I have great memories of her that started even before I joined Augustana. As those memories come flooding back I will try to write them down and share with you. In the meantime, know that I will be thinking about you continually and that I can listen to you for hours if you need to talk. May God's peace be with you and may your family and friends lift you up during this really, really hard time.

Condolence From: Lois Glewwe
Condolence: I graduated from SSP High School with Debbie and although we didn't ever keep in touch, I renewed my acquaintance with her through her work in the SSP community when I was active in local politics. Her insight into issues of state education funding and her support of our local schools as she fought for funding and consistent quality was amazing. She was always sincere, caring, genuine and strong in her passion for causes she believed in. I am having trouble realizing she's gone and that we won't be swapping political posts on Facebook any longer. My sympathy to her entire family and to our community of friends and supporters who will miss her.

Condolence: Dear Rick & Maria,

My heart is heavy since learning of Debbies passing. As college friends, we have had a shared history of over 50 years. It will be strange not to see her smiling face and hear her great laugh. Of the people I have met “down life’s highway”, she truly is at the top of the list for leading a life of service. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Always,
Bonnie

Condolence From: Carla Mihm
Condolence: Dear Rick, Maria, family & friends:
My deepest sympathy on the loss of Deb! I’m so sorry. Deb was a wonderful person, she had a heart of gold, busy with so many causes and a great advocate for so many, always wanting to help out where she could. She was an amazing contributor, supporter and advocate for education. She made a difference in so many lives and I will always be grateful for all she did for us down at the SSP CLC while I worked there. She will be greatly missed. May God surround you with His love, peace, strength and comfort in the days ahead. You are in my thoughts & prayers.

Sincerely,
Carla Mihm
